In 1988 he joined Lingward as Sales Office Manager, and in 1993 he joined forces with Owen Le-Roy to set up Flach & Le-Roy Ltd. Today Richard is highly respected in the industry for his expertise in designing crop drying systems with optimal ventilation and airflow characteristics. Owen Le-Roy

Owen Le-RoyOwen Le-Roy has farming in his blood, having grown up on a farm in Hertfordshire. Therefore, it felt natural to him to pursue a career in agriculture and he studied at both Oaklands College in Hertfordshire and Lackham College, Wiltshire to gain academic qualifications in Farm Mechanization. As the Production Manager at fledgling Lingward, he set up the production line and went on to serve on the Board as Production Director. In 1992 he set up his own engineering business and co-founded Flach & Le-Roy with Richard Flach in 1993. Today, Owen manages the finance, production and supply chain functions of the Company and his commitment to quality, productivity and attention to detail has contributed significantly to FLR’s reputation for quality and value. Despite a busy work schedule Owen found time to build and manage a rally team and he was rewarded with a 1st in Class and a 4th place overall in the Motor Sport Association English Gravel Rally Championship in 2007. Owen is also a keen supporter of his local community, having previously served as a parish councillor, school governor and local church officer. A committed family man, Owen lives in rural Suffolk with his wife and two sons.

Ken McLean

Ken McLeanKen McLean is the eminent author of Drying and Storing Combinable Crops. First published in 1980 and updated in 1989, the book is recognised by the cereal industry as an authoritative reference guide. Its value to the arable farmer and to the industry in general has not diminished over the years and it remains as fresh and relevant today as in the time that it was first released.

Ken McLean’s association with Flach & Le-Roy dates back to his days working with the Agricultural Development and Advisory Service (ADAS) in the early 1980s, when Richard Flach worked for Myson Fans. During the early 1990s Ken provided consultancy advice to the fledgling Flach & Le-Roy business venture, and today he remains a highly knowledgeable and respected member of the team.
